Alexandre Desplat is de Oscarwinnende componist achter films als Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Shape of Water, The Grand Budapest Hotel en The King's Speech.
In de filmwereld heeft hij dan ook de status van halfgod. De laatste twintig jaar kreeg hij dertien Oscarnominaties voor de beste original score, meer dan welke andere componist ook. Ons orkest speelde zijn muziek al vaker, maar dit is de eerste keer dat Desplat zelf zijn eigen werk komt dirigeren.
