Presentation New Academists

Get to know our newest talents.

On October the 26th the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra Academy will present five new international top talents that will be part of the orchestra's academy during the '23-'24 season. After the great success of the second group, that ventured along on a the main orchestra's tour to Asia and of whom Lara Trimmer and Tobias Staub moved into a regular position in the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Expectations are high.

We welcome:

  • From the Netherlands Martine Velthuis on violin
  • From Luxembourg Julie Adalsteinsson on violin
  • From Spain Almudena Conzález Regueral Navarro on viola
  • From Spain Nuria Comorera Nosas on Cello
  • From the United Kingdom Joe Prindl on double bass

With the support of three musicians from the
Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra; they will be playing the String Octet by Bruch.

17.00 doors open
17:15 short introduction about the founding and importance of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra Academy.
17:30 Supported by three musicians of the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the academists play Bruch's string octet.
18:00 panel discussion on top talent in the world of both business and international orchestras with, among others, Ahold Delhaize.
18:30 End of the event with drinks, and the possibility a guided tour through the Batavierhuis for those who are interested.

The location is the Batavierhuis on the Pieter de Hoochweg 108 in Rotterdam West. The Batavierhuis is an inependent maker-space and breeding ground for (young) entrepreneurial artists with the goal of developing cultural talent in Rotterdam. Stichting Droom en Daad has made the Batavierhuis permanently available for our academists so they can work on their careers in optimal conditions.
