Memorial concert 2026

The bombing of 14 May 1940 set Rotterdam ablaze. Eighty-six years later, we commemorate the fragility of all that we hold dear with music from that harrowing wartime era. Shostakovich’s Piano Trio weaves Jewish melodies into a haunting dance of death, while Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time offers a vision of peace beyond the end of days. Never has this music spoken to us more powerfully than now.
