Dvořák's Cello Concerto
Truls Mørk moves the audience with Dvořák’s Cello Concerto, followed by Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony and Kodály’s warm, dancing finale.
At the start of 2026, we could all use something heart-warming. This concert opens with one of Dvořák’s irresistible Slavonic Dances, paving the way for his radiant Cello Concerto performed by Truls Mørk - “perhaps the greatest living cellist,” according to Het Parool. And then Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony is still to come. Kodály picks up the thread in a reflective mood, lets the sun break through, and finally sends us home dancing. Happy New Year!

And go home dancing.

Truls Mørk's big-toned, clean-edged playing made for a muscular performance, always carefully controlled yet bristling with angry passion just beneath the surface.
