Asia tour in June
This summer, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra embarks on a major tour in East Asia with principal conductor Lahav Shani. From June 15 to 27, the orchestra will give 11 concerts in the most famous concert halls of Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.
This tour of international allure begins in Taiwan at the prestigious concert hall of the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts, where the orchestra celebrated its opening four years ago. This building is the largest theater complex in the world and designed by Dutch architect Francine Houben; in other words, a Dutch rendez-vous! The orchestra then moves on to South Korea and ends the tour in Japan. Works by Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov, among others, will be performed with top soloists such as Akiko Suwanai, Bruce Liu and Bomsori Kim.
