Friends

A good friend is worth their weight in gold. That’s certainly how we at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra think of our friends. Fortunately, we are not alone. For over eighty years the more than three thousand Friends of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra help us when they can. This support comes mainly from donations for the purchase of the most wonderful instruments to be able to offer our musicians.

Our Friends come in all shapes and sizes. For a minimum of 50 euros per year you can become a Friend. Two people living at the same address can both become Friends for a joint payment of 85 euros per year. And if you are aged 26 or under it costs just 10 euros per year to become a ‘Young Friend’. You can become a Benefactor with an extra gift of 150 euros or more per year on top of the Friends subscription. For a periodic agreement of five years the extra gift may be deducted 125%, with no threshold, on your income tax return. In addition, Benefactors are invited to the annual Benefactors’ concert.
