Chamber music30 Sep '22 - 02 Oct '22(Past)

Chamber music in the best Slavic tradition, where melancholy and a zest for life go hand in hand.

‘That man has more ideas than all of us put together,’ Brahms said of Dvořák, in admiration – and with a touch of envy – of the apparent ease with which his fellow composer was able to conjure up so many melodies. Dvořák drew his inspiration from Slavic folk music, in which melancholy and a zest for life go hand in hand. That can be heard in his Dumky Trio, so brim-full of irresistible ideas that envy would be understandable.
