Morning music
Antonín Dvořák made a name for himself with his symphonies and his cello concerto, but his biggest hit were the Slavonic Dances: music in which fiery passion and endless melancholy go hand in hand. His delightful String Sextet, the centerpiece of this Sunday morning concert, exudes the same warm-blooded atmosphere. Folk music also inspired Borodin's captivating String Sextet and Dvořák's compatriot Martinů's sparkling Madrigals: an energy boost that no coffee can match.
With this concert, Letizia Sciarone (violin) bids farewell to our orchestra after 21 years.
This edition will take place in the RDM Kantine on Heijplaat.
