Joe Hisaishi in Concert
Japan's most famous film composer conducts the music from Studio Ghibli's classic Spirited Away.
Joe Hisaishi, perhaps Japan's most famous composer, is known for his long-term collaboration with anime director Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. He wrote the music for films including Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service and Ponyo, and has won several international awards. In March 2025, he will come to the Netherlands for the first time ever, where he will treat the audience to the magical music from the film Spirited Away and a number of his own symphonic pieces including a new harp concerto together with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.
Please note: during this concert the Spirited Away Suite will be played by the orchestra only. There will be no movie screen showing footage from the film.
