Bratislava & Vienna 2023
At the start of October, our orchestra will be visiting the capital of both Slovakia and Austria. Three performances will be given at the illustrious Musikverein in Vienna.
For music lovers Vienna is hallowed ground, the Musikverein being its most holy temple: Only the most illustrious of soloists, ensembles and orchestras find their podium here. This fall, our orchestra together with chief conductor Lahav Shani, will visit the famous Goldener Saal. We will open our residency with Brahms' Tragic Ouverture – Which had its world premiere in this hall – and his First symphony; furthermore works by Bartók, Stravinsky and Prokofiev will be played. The prelude for our Viennese weekend is a concert in the Reduta of Bratislava, a short distance by train from Vienna. A musical palace in which the architecture brings together neobaroque, rococo and art nouveau as the starting point of this jewel of a mini tour.
